Comments:

Surname Mitani; personal name Matasaburô.

Pupil of Hirosada; trained in Maruyama-style painting, but turned toward printmaking and took the name of Sadahiro upon the death of Hirosada; also an illustrator for Asahi Shimbun (a publishing firm founded in Osaka in 1879).
