For a long time it has been quite difficult to acquire a piece by Kumano unless you made your way to visit the man on the far side of Japan, or happened to be in Tokyo the week of his annual show in that city. The main reason is the very small output of each firing combined with Kumano's extremely high standards as to what he is willing to sell. This left precious few pieces each year that were not specifically earmarked for exhibitions.
Included are several pieces with truly remarkable effects.
